<p>Periodontics, as a dental specialty, is officially defined as "that specialty of dentistry which encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the supporting and surrounding structures of the teeth and their substitutes; and the replacement of lost teeth and supporting structures by grafting or implantation of natural and synthetic devices and materials". In other words, we help people live better by preserving or improving oral health, esthetics, and function.<br>
